ANNOUNCING! Minneapolis Star Tribune Feature Story by Curt Brown on Caroline Rosdahl

Greetings from Caroline Rosdahl

“You ought to write a book,” my good friend and nursing colleague said. I laughed, “Ha, ha!” As you know, I already wrote a book. I’ve updated it ten times in the past fifty years since I first wrote it."

I told my friend that my TEXTBOOK OF BASIC NURSING is now well over 2,000 pages. So I don’t feel a need to write any more books.”

She said, “I know, I know. Your textbook is a classic in the nursing profession and your name is legendary. But I think you should write another kind of a book. A record of your life as a nurse.

I signed, “Sounds like a lot of work to me. And I’m not sure anyone would want to read it.”

She said, “I think lots of people would want to read it. You’ve had an amazing career in the nursing profession, spanning many decades.

From the mid twentieth century through present day nursing in the twenty-first century. You didn’t retire but continued to work in the field. You have witnessed so many changes throughout the years and have a lot of insights about the nursing profession.”

My friend continued, “You have worked with some of the top surgeons and history makers in the field of medicine. I think many people would really enjoy your book.

Especially those interested in going into the nursing profession, as well as those realdy in the nursing or medical field.

And your life shows how one’s career path might take unexpected and wonderful twists and turns.

And your true stories give a glimpse into the often strange and unusual expressions of the human experience that nurses can encounter in their work.”

Okay, so I have now written the book.

This book is much shorter than my textbook. And I’ve written it in such a way that you can read it in bits and pieces.

It’s full of lots of stories and anecdotes.

And it includes many historical photos.

Thankfully, I have been blessed to be able to make a positive and far-reaching contribution.

I sincerely hope my new book can benefit you in some way, whether as education, inspiration, or even entertainment.
